trouble closing account

My open account has apparently dropped my credit score. I do not owe money so I'm not sure how it affects the score. I'm trying to cancel my account since I never use it. When I go to close, it says I can't close because I have a "credit". I do not have a credit. I haven't used PayPal in years (since Venmo came out). I just want to cancel so my credit score can go back up.
