Hi All,
Just recently I opened a business account with Paypal. After a few days, I received an email from a scammer. See the attached photo below
3 things that determine this email is a real scam.
1) Sender's email address- some weird arbitrary name(not using a real name)
2) How does this scammer address the customer? Not using ACTUAL real name (e.g John <removed>) of the PayPal account holder.
Scammer just use a general term: Dear Customer
3) Scammer ask you to log into a phishing site.
It has been a long time since I log into my Paypal account, I think over 2 years.
And over this period of time, I did not receive any scammer PayPal email.
Previously I was just using a normal Paypal account, until recently I applied a business account with Paypal
because I am going to have a ecommerce store.
So my question how does the scammer detect that there was activity in my account and prompted to send
scammed email to me?
Anyone got any advice/comment?
Thank you.
