Suspect Email

Hi, I have received several emails now starting out Hello Again Patricia ...(my surname), please let me know if this is spam, I have ignored it.  I checked on the communications on my paypal account by signing in separately and not clicking on the links within the email and there are no messages for me.

Paypal have always said that they would only ever address members by their full name and this one keeps coming with my full name.

Please confirm and reply to me whether I need to ignore this or act on it.

Thanks,
Patricia

If its a spoof, NEVER USE ANY LINK. SEND IT TO spoof@paypal.com for confirmation.

Firstly if the email/text addressed you as ''Dear Member'' / ''Customer'' / ''Client'' OR your ''email address'' then that confirms its a spoof as paypal would address you by your full name eg Dear John Smith.

Secondly if there was a link OR attachment in that email/text to ''cancel'' any transaction or ''confirm'' any details then again it would be a spoof.

If there was a problem with your account Paypal would not ask you to click on an unsafe link in an email or by downloading an attachment, they would direct you to log in normally and go to the resolution or the message centre for more information.

Thanks, but it did address me as my full name, but all the links were to the same address so I didn't click on any of them.  I will send it to the paypal contact you have recommended.
