If paypal doesn't release funds until package has been sent, how can a company take our money?

 Paypal doesn't pay until the item is shipped.  Yet I show a payment made but the item wasn't shipped?

There are several reasons why a payment to a seller will be put on hold. Check below article for further details. Instead of waiting 21 days of hold, ask you buyer to Confirm Receipt of the item just follow the steps provided in the article below. Once the buyer is done confirming the receipt the balance will be release automatically to the seller.
