Have you ever received money you didn't request? If so, BE CAREFUL!
Today I received a payment from Canada that I did not request. I received the email from PayPal and immediately knew it was an error. Soon I received an email from the sender saying it was a mistake and asked me to refund it. I clicked the "refund" button on the transaction because there was no REJECT button. The sender was refunded their full amount....however, because of PAYPAL FEES my PayPal balance did not cover the charge....so they withdrew the money from my bank account.
The end result, my bank account is much lower than I was expecting....my PayPal balance is significantly higher than I expected (I usually keep it at $0), and I am out over $40US over this. After two chats and a phone call with PayPal they say "You did nothing wrong", but also, "There is nothing we can do about it".
If you ever receive money you were not expecting and asked for a refund - STOP - let PayPal deal with it! I should have just kept the money in my PayPal account and not done anything! I knew it wasn't my money and I wanted to do what was RIGHT - but because PayPal didn't give me opportunity to see the amount (after conversion) and SHOW me that it would be higher than the balance, I am out $$ and have to hope that some stranger will make it right by sending me the difference.
