Payment pending

I sent a payment to a seller to purchase an item, but the payment is still pending - which means the seller hasn’t received the funds - does anyone know when this will be released or what the process is and how long it takes ?

Pending in the sellers paypal account?

Pending in both accounts?

Is there a clearance date?

How did you fund the payment?

Was it in sterling or another currency ie is he in the same country?
