Hi. I have received a message from a mobile number +4[Removed. Phone #s not permitted]purporting to be from Paypal. The messgae states the "We have limited your account due to safety concerns.

Please visit (website) before we are forced to suspend services.

I have checked my Paypal site and there is no message on there so this is fraudulent. Beware.

Fred. Merry.

If its a spoof then NEVER USE ANY LINK.

Firstly if the email/text addressed you as ''Dear Member'' / ''Customer'' / ''Client'' OR your ''email address'' then that confirms its a spoof as paypal would address you by your full name eg Dear John Smith.

Secondly if there was a link OR attachment in that email/text to ''cancel'' any transaction or ''confirm'' any details then again it would be a spoof.

If there was a problem with your account Paypal would not ask you to click on an unsafe link in an email or by downloading an attachment, they would direct you to log in normally and go to the resolution or the message centre for more information.

Thank you for your response. I did not respond to the spoof request, but I also did not advise that I received the spoof via Messenger. I have received advice that I can send the spoof on to Paypal, but I do not know how to do this from Messenger on my i-phone.

Thank you.
