Insured payment

I’m thinking of buying something to the value of £2000.  The purchase is not through eBay.  Is there a way I can still have payment insurance in the event the package doesn’t arrive, is not as described or is faulty?

Paypals buyer protection policy which you automatically qualify for is not a 100% coverall so that is why you need to read up on it in paypals user agreement for your country so you can risk assess your transactions.

You qualify as long as you don't use the friends / family option to send the payment.

That depends on 'many' factors all listed in Paypals buyer protection policy for you to read and then you can risk assess your own transactions.

Thanks for the quick reply, but what does that mean practically.  Is insurance something I can add o to a transaction with additional fee or does the transaction have to qualify for insurance by meeting certain criteria.  Can you provide a link to where I might find this info please.  Regards Pete
