Incorrect Fees applied?

I was charged a £3 fee on £55 payment via ebay. Payment from and to UK accounts, no postage being charged. Usually I am charged 2.9% + 0.30pence However this would work out at a fee of £1.90. Anyone know what's going on? TIA

Thank you for your post! I understand that the fee charged is not the one you were expecting. Was the payment an international payment? It sounds like the amount difference might be due to that being the issue. To learn about all the fees involved with a transaction, please click Fees at the bottom of the PayPal website and/or review the Fees section of the PayPal User Agreement by clicking Legal at the bottom of the PayPal website.
