Hi a question about currency conversion fee
It says there is a 2.5% currency conversion fee that paypal charges when converting.
Are we charged that only on funds coming into our paypal accounts or does it apply also if we are transferring say USA funds out of our paypal to our Canadian bank account?
Basically when withdrawing usa funds to canadian bank account is it figuring it based on exchange rate + 2.5% conversion fee? or just exchange rate?

The currency conversion fee is charged whenever funds are converted from one balance to another (including withdrawals, if a conversion is necessary). As we can only withdraw CAD to Canadian bank accounts, any USD funds that are withdrawn would be converted during the withdrawal process. As such, a currency conversion fee would occur.
In regards to receiving payments, you would only be charged the currency conversion fee if and when you choose to convert the payment to a different currency.
Thanks!
Adrian
