To all the Sellers, this must sound Awful, right! I have a unique situation unfolding here, son had a job offer, found a place for him to stay (in another state 8 hrs from home), here he gets a message 2 days AFTER I paid, that his job is in a DIFFERENT STATE... we are NOT SURE YET if this is a HR mistake / mix up, it's the weekend, he can not get a hold of anyone about it - to make matters worse, he has to deal with a "Contractor service " for this job - but the interview was not with them but the company...he is not even sure WHO TO CALL to get this straightened out... He's already confused, then me, MOM, goes and pays for a month for him to stay somewhere, and it may be in the wrong STATE !!!
Thankfully , Seller did say she would cancel this transaction for me if this is the case...but I don't really want it canceled YET --as IF this is an HR Mess up and he's indeed supposed to be staying where we originally assumed.. I still very much WANT TO PAY FOR THIS TRANSACTION.. I just need a little more time to get it all confirmed ...hopefully within the week..
As I understand, if a Buyer doesn't "Confirm Receipt".. the money is held IN PayPal for HOW MANY DAYS? Then what... does it automatically CANCEL or go through? Just trying to understand how all of this works .. Whether I should ask for a Refund or wait this out.
Thank you so much.

If you do not confirm (it is optional), the funds are released to the seller by PayPal after 21 days from date of payment anyway. It also does not negate your buyer protection though of 180 days from date of payment the right to open a dispute if necessary.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
