Hello Paypal community. 

 

I am getting this message (Sorry, we can’t link your bank account right now) every time I try to link my bank account to Pay Pal. Some facts:

 

1) I am trying to link my bank once or twice a day and get always the same message. 

 

2) My bank is Sparkasse (Germany) and should not have any problems to be linked. 

 

3) This is also impeding my account limitation to be lifted. (I've got my PayPal account limited before and I had to proof my identity first, and now I am required to confirm my bank account (!!) ). Therefore, apart from no chance to cash out, PayPal leave me with no other chance than do NOTHING with my money on it. 

 

4) I am having this problem since weeks ago and have had NO solution. NOBODY from support has respond any emails or any call (due to COVID customer support staff has been cut or at least their working hours). I've also tried posting in this forum getting no answer as well.

 

5) Considering the above, I will post this issue everyday until someone help me with my problem. I won't let PayPal keep "working" my money. It is not fair to cut all attention lines to customer leaving them with no assistance nor chance to complain about the POOR service you provide. 

 

6) Of course every contribution is welcome and I will be very thankful to all the people on Paypal community who has some helpful information about this issue and want to help me with this!

Same with Banco Popular in Puerto Rico, try to link my bank account the normal way that takes up to 3 business days and I get this. There's a portal I can't get through that is also impeding me from linking my bank account a more fast and easy way, but the problem I'm having there might not be related to Paypal. Either way, I can't link my bank account to Paypal with money just sitting there.

I have the same issue. My bank account account number has been updated, so I need to link it again and verify it.

Every time I try to link it, it tells me "Sorry, we can't link your bank account right now".

I tried to contact Paypal countless times via email, but receive a canned answer from the message centre. After messaging a few times, I get a hold from customer support, which is not helpful at all.

I only got told that the security system is blocking this option and I should try again in a few days or add another bank.

Well, adding another bank doesn't work either and waiting a few days didn't solve the issue as well.

I am not able to reach anyone at phone support due to covid and that is okay. However it would be great to actually reach someone via email, who can help me to resolve the issue instead of sending me the same answers over and over agin.

Paypal, please help your merchants!

I would appreciate if someone at Paypal could get back to me and help to resolve this issue.

Hello guys, I have some "news" about my problem... Two days ago I tried (as I've been doing everyday since weeks ago) and the problem fixed itself actually. I just put my IBAN and birth date and the error message did not come up. I could link my bank right. Now I am waiting to confirm it with the code Paypal send in a transfer of $0,01. It has been three working days already (they say it takes between 2 and 3 working days). I will wait few next days and let you know. If nobody from Paypal assist you, try anyway... you might be lucky like me.

How much time passed by from the first time you had the error until you could actually add it?

Just trying to figure out what to expect. For me it has been around 5 days now.

Also did you update the beneficiary name or something before? I needed to adjust the beneficiary name slightly for my new bank account, so maybe that triggered something.

Would appreciate your insights.

@Coffeelife33 Hi mate, unfortunately it was several weeks to me, maybe 2 months. I did not change anything on it. Now I am waiting for the confirmation code (which is supposed to come with a transfer) for 5 working days (it is expected to arrive within 2-5 days). I'll let you know when it is over. Good luck with your case! (It's the best you can have as PP support does not exist).
