Receiving money from the Philippines while in Canada

I used to live and work in the Philippines but is now in Winnipeg, Canada as a Permanent Resident. My employer decided to keep my service so they are planning to send my pay through PayPal. I would like to know the fees PayPal may charge against me so that I can ensure my employer covers it as well. I already have a PayPal Canada account and my checking bank account is already hooked up to it. It will really be great and much appreciated if someone can show my a sample computation. For example, if my employer will send me 500,000 PHP, how much are the fees, and final amount in Canadian Dollars.

You can ask employer to send in CAD so you won't need to deal with exchange/conversion fees and just pay the PayPal fee of 3.9% + $0.30 CAD. Or, 4.0% conversion fee + forex rate when the PHP is converted to CAD + the aforementioned PayPal fee.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

So if the converted PHP becomes 6,000 CAD, and forex is 1 PHP = 0.0257418 CAD, then the fee is (4.0% x 6,000) + 0.0257418 + (3.9% x 6,000) + 0.30 = 474.325742 CAD that freaking big????
