Can't Link Bank Account

Do you have to have a checking/debit account for PayPal to link to? I keep trying to link my savings account as I don't have a checking account currently active nor can I afford to open up a new one for quite some time. If it is possible to link a savings account, how do I do it on my phone? Every time I try PayPal just takes me back to the "link bank or card" page.

You can link a savings account to your PayPal account. Just follow the steps to link a bank.
