PayPal Invoicing Issue - 500 Internal Server Error

When my customers are handed off to PayPal (HTML form fields that have been in use and have worked for months) they are getting an "Internal Server Error".  Folks, this is NOT a client-side error; It is nearly 100% a misconfiguration of the server.

<on soapbox>  My frustration right now is that for hours I tried to contact a live person at PayPal to report the problem.  Even before the office closed (10PM CDT) I got the run-around from an automated phone director.   So folks, how do you report a problem when you have one?  I do between 5k and 10k a month; do I have a better option than this, someplace where a real human being cares?  Seems like the tech side of data processing is a 24/7/365 job, not something that gets shut down when the administrative office is dark. <off soapbox>

Same issue here, been going on since around 3am last night (Central).  Called support, she knew what I was talking about, said they are working on it, no ETA.  That was a few hours ago and it's still happening.

I'm seeing rumors of Paypal being hacked, could they possibly fix the error page to be a bit more user friendly and not such a turn-off or maybe communicate with it's clients that support them and are affected?  What a horrible response to something affecting so many on a financial level.

Since last night I cannot access any of my invoices through the invoicing tool. Every time I click on an invoice I get a 500 internal error. Have re-started computer, web browser, cleared cookies, etc. I have packages to go out today and need to access these invoices! Anyone have a work around until I hear back from Paypal customer service?

Thank you,

And the webmaster email they provide in the error kicks back an automated message that basically says we are that helpful... search the help button at the top of the website... Which lead me to this forum that also has no answers... Come on paypal... whats the issue??!?? I need to pay these people!

Hi everyone,

Thank you for reporting this on the forum to let other community members know of the issue.  There is a known issue right now with the invoicing system and the 500 internal error or server error.  We are actively working to resolve this as soon as possible.  We apologize for any inconvenience this is causing.

Thanks for the update. I had this problem before with my website. Just reboot the server and that should fix the problem. If not, you may need to make sure you have the latest Microsoft updates downloaded. 🙂 🙂
