jm501,

It turns out that both App and SMS 2-factor authenticator have been enabled.

Symantec's "VIP access" app has "Credential IDs" that work with Paypal.

When you have multiple verification schemes, Paypal will ask which one you'd like to use at login.

I concur! Please add Google Authenticator. Much more convenient than texts.

Please add Google Authentication for PayPal.

It is simpler and cheaper (free) than receiving SMS or carrying another piece of plastic to lose.

If nothing else please state the reason why your customers shouldn't have this option.

As others have noted, the moderator has not replied to this question; that defeats the purpose of this board.

I also agree that PayPal needs to consider using Google Authenticator (or I would be fine with a PayPal-native implementation of SMS-based 2-factor authentication so that we can use our smartphones).

I've had the PayPal security token/keyfob for 2-factor authentication for ages, and I wouldn't be withough this added layer of security.

But carrying around a special keyfob for the site is inconvenient, and my keychain is starting to become enormous. I know authenitcation methods using SMS/cellphones have their own problems/limitations, but I do think PayPal should consider this as an option. If not Google Authenticator, then something similar.
