I keep getting email messages that want me to update all of my information in 48 hrs or my account will be closed. The email address looks funny. Is this a scam to steal my information?

If its a spoof, NEVER USE ANY LINK.

Firstly if the email/text addressed you as ''Dear Member'' / ''Customer'' / ''Client'' OR your ''email address'' then that confirms its a spoof as paypal would address you by your full name eg Dear John Smith.

Secondly if there was a link OR attachment in that email/text to ''cancel'' any transaction or ''confirm'' any details then again it would be a spoof.

If there was a problem with your account Paypal would not ask you to click on an unsafe link in an email or by downloading an attachment, they would direct you to log in normally and go to the resolution or the message centre for more information.

sorry I am new to this and don't understand all of this new to me electronic stuff. I didn't know I posted twice. I will not be using this site again as I just think you were too hard on a new member who doesn't understand how this works. Sorry I was born with a brain and not a computer in my head. Just trying to learn as I go but at 75 years old this is not easy.

If you read my post, you will see it was not directed at you, the name above my post was @GG928 as I was annoyed that i gave you all the information that you needed but then they repeated what i had just said for no reason.

Normally employees don't show up on this forum as they man the phone lines but they are down at the moment.

Its good that they are posting and helping but i was annoyed they repeated my advice for no reason.

Oh and by the way i am not a lot younger than you.
