Wrong phone number for verifcation

I entered my password wrong by accident, and now can’t access my account without entering a code sent to me phone number, I haven’t updated with my new number since I got it. Is there a way I can confirm through email? Or change the number? Thanks

I'm sorry to hear that the phone number on your account is not correct. To have it updated, please contact customer service for assistance. Click Contact at the bottom of the PayPal website, then Call us, then call as a guest.

I called earlier today and the verification phone number never changed. The lady on the phone said it could take 24 hours to update. Is that true?

I haven't heard of a 24 hour delay for updating the verification number. It's possible that it's something I don't know about, though! If the issue persists past 24 hours, please reach out to customer service again.
