Question From Barbados (Unable to Change Country --- Why)

In 2018 I set up a paypal account and it allowed me to select Barbados as my country, however when I tried setting up this new one today it would not allow me to select a country and only gave me State Options from the United States. so I chose NY to go through the set up, but I cannot change it to my country of Barbados.
What do I do? I'm totally lost here and don't take me as being rude, but please don't say the answer that everyone else is getting about "PalPal being Country Specific" because that really does not help with changing the address.
I am in Barbados now so if it is Country Specific it should have brought up my country like it did last year, shouldn't it?
Also how do I downgrade my account from Business to Personal so I can see if I can change the settings there first before I panic more.

You may not like it but its the answer............
Paypal is country specific so you have to open a paypal account in the country you reside in and add an address / phone number / and bank accounts from within that country.
You don't select U.S if you are not living in the U.S.
When you click to register an account you click on the drop down box and select YOUR OWN COUNTRY.
There is no automatic way to downgrade a business account to a personal account, you have to contact customer services and they will do that for you.
You can click on help / contact bottom left of every Paypal page for contact options for your country.

I know about setting it up and it being country specific, but that is where the problem lies, it did not ask me for my country, I did not think of it as being strange until I got to the part where it asked for my address and then only gave me options for American States so I tried to leave it Blank but it would not let me proceed so then I just picked one hoping that on the inside I could edit it. There was "no country listing for me to choose from".

They don't ask you your country.
If you go to the home page and register you get this..........
A box with a country on it and this at the side V you then click on the V arrow and scroll down to your country, I have just done it and its fine.

I see where I made my mistake I picked for Registered Business and not for Just starting out so what do I do now. Can I delete the account and remake it using the same address or do I need to us an entirely different email address?

You can 'try' closing that account but as you can't verify it then it may not be possible.
Worth a shot anyway then if you can open one with the same email addy and the correct country.

Still something is wrong went to PAYPAL using Edge I got a different screen to what I got on Chrome. On Chrome I saw the country option easily, but on Edge it had this half and half sliding screen for Business or Personal and when I hit Business there and go to the set up it does not give me the option for setting up the country this is so tricky. Why has it changed so much, sigh?
