A friends / family (or gift payment) is intended as a transfer of funds from family or friends to one another. For this reason, there is no processing fee when payment is made with bank or PayPal balance.
However as it is a “gift” payment, there is also no SELLER protection as no goods or services should have been exchanged.

You also risk having your account limited for using this option when you are selling goods as its against Paypal rules.

Whilst you are stopping your buyers having any buyer protection as they can't file a Paypal dispute when using that option, they can however file an unauthorised transaction dispute OR do a chargeback and you would lose as you would have no seller protection because you should not be using that option to sell.
