Is this a scam account?

someone wanted to buy my Ipad from gumtree in Australia, and we arranged the money and paypal details. But then instead of paying me, they sent me this email that was from <removed> that was NAMED <removed> that said, basically, their money is being held until they receive the item and then Ill get the money put in my bank account.

It seems so much like a scam to me, so I wanted to check if anyone else has had this problem? Or if this is a legit thing?

Welcome to the PayPal Community Forums! Unfortunately, anytime an email address is masked or the "name" of the actual email address shows as PayPal when the email address is not from a PayPal domain, then it isn't from us. It sounds as though the buyer may be fraudulent, and I am truly sorry that you experienced this.
