Continually required password changes make login less secure

Every time I now try to login to paypal I get a message that I must change my password.
If I change the password, immediately log out, then try to login right away I am getting the exact same message that I must change my password.
Really???
To add to the craziness of the situation palpay "helpfully" now adds a option to login WITH NO PASSWORD AT ALL, just a single SIM code.
I find the current lack of security in paypal hard to believe for a financial institution. No wonder the scamers are doing so well.
