Additional users in a business account can't log in to the Business app and/or make payments

Hey there,

I created a business account for a small business I am running with 2 friends. The business account required me to set a main "account holder", which is me. So far, so good. Now I've been trying to give my 2 friends access to the account without using the same login (since it is my personal login). So I created 2 additional users for them, each with an own username, email and password. The user accounts are fully verified. I have given them all permissions.

Now - they are able to login to the account in the browser with their username and password, which is good. But they are not able to login to the PayPal Business app with the same credentials. The app complains about the username (e.g. user123) not being a correct email, which is of course right, but when entering the email the app says "Check your info and try again" and won't let them login. The official guide (https://www.paypal.com/us/cshelp/article/how-do-i-manage-users-on-my-business-account-help274) tells me that they have to login with their username, which is obviously not possible because of the format check.

The same problem appears when attempting to pay something online with these user accounts. PayPal wants an email/password combination and complains, when you enter the username instead of an email. When I enter the email of the user and the correct password, it complains that something is wrong and I should check the credentials.

Is there a deadlock here? I feel like thousands of businesses have to be using this option of creating accounts for their employees/co-owners, so it *must* work, but somehow it doesn't for us. What am I missing?
