How to setup Yubikey 5? Can anybody please help?

Hello Community,

I have been looking for how to setup Yubikey 5? I called and spoke with PayPal but the person who I spoke with was not able to help at all.  I called originally because the Security card system has just been disabled and I did not see that coming.  I checked the community forum and see that a lot of people are also asking for help about security keys and from what I can see did not receive any help or replies.  Can anybody please help?  Everything that I have tried so far in PayPal to setup a key fails.  The funny thing is that even when I tried to complete a survey about the problems I am having, fails and errors out.  lol

I looked up how this Yubikey works and you have to browse from a list of supported apps from https://www.yubico.com/setup/ after choosing your key model to find what you want to secure and follow the directions. And PayPal is not supported.

Thanks for your reply.  I went to the link you provided and you are correct, PayPal is NOT one of the compatible programs!  I can't believe that they are not working with YubiKey to get these devices setup.  Using a key like that is one of the most secure things you can do for your account.  I use it for banking today.  Well with any luck PayPal will get caught up with the rest of the world and allow the use of these devices.

I just added a Yubikey 5 to my profile. My Yubikey 5 Nano also works.  Although, im not sure if this is available in all regions.

Thanks for the help.  I found that it required me to set it up very quickly because if I took any longer than 30 seconds it would time itself out and throw me an error.  But at least it is setup and working.
