How to delete a Paypal account without a smartphone?

    I repeat, how to delete a PayPal account without a smartphone? I don't own one, and it's asking me to receive a text, that I'm unable to answer. I now a lot of people that do not or simply cannot afford to own a smartphone. Why do a majority of online websites assume that everyone in the entire world owns one? For me, this is yet another reason to ditch PayPal. I don't need my PayPal account anymore, and I want to close it.

If you go to the 'Help & Contact' icon on the PayPal website. Then if you click the 'Contact Us' link at the bottom of the page. From here, if you click the 'Password and Account Access' option, then 'Login Problems'. On the next page, you will see a 'Call Us' option. You do not need to be logged in to use this feature.

    I'm not a Genius, but wouldn't "Call Us" require a phone? I need a way to delete my account without a phone. Any phone. Not just a smartphone. I'm almost completely deaf, and I just don't see the point in having a phone at all. I can't afford to purchase one, or pay for the service anyway. I always use my PC or laptop.

    So again - How do I delete my PayPal account without a phone?

So I'm not a genius either but do you mean that in the whole of the U.S there is not a phone that you can borrow and make a phone call?

There is no one that can stand by you with the phone on loud speaker that can help you with the questions asked?

Once you have confirmed account details then paypal could then close your account for you?

We can only give general advice, on how you can access your phone if logged out its up to you to actually work out how you can do that.

    That is total B.S., and no sadly, I don't have anyone I can just run up to and ask to them to make a call for me. I shouldn't have to go through all that just to close an online account anyway. If I opened it online, I should be able to close it online as well!

    You know what, I'll just get a new card and NOT put it in, since that seems to be the ONLY option to disabling a PayPal account!
