i cant add my bank account to paypal

ive just opend a new paypal account in my new married name closed a old one i was using. the new account is now up and running and im now trying to get veryfied , and in order to do this i need to add my bank account and all i keep getting it , were sorry we cant carry out this at the moment. can any suggest why i keep getting this msg, and why can i add my bank to my paypal account.???

Hi there yaninaS,

Have you removed the bank account from your old PayPal account? Bank accounts can only be added to one PayPal account at any one time.

What is the exact error message you are receiving?

ive closed my old paypal account downt b4 i opend the new one in my new name. ive been trying ever since to had my bank accout to my account and it wont let me.

it saying i cant re open my old account now to take the bank details of that account, but i cant see that being the trouble if that account as been closed, and is no longet registerd to me.

so im at a loss.

For security purposes, your bank account cannot be added because it has been previously registered with another PayPal account. Please add a different bank account.

got this msg today. the other paypal account it was used with as been closed down and is no longer used. so how come i cant use it for my new account??

Hey yaninaS,

As you didn’t remove your bank from your old account before closing it the system will not allow you to add it to your new account. I would advise contacting us via phone so we can search for the old account and remove it. Then you will be able to add it to your new account.
