I want to make a purchase which exceeds paypals annual limit with them and it seems the only resolution is to add another bank account on to my paypal account. This is clearly mad and can't be right, can it?

Hi all,
Welcome to the UK Community Forum and thanks for posting!
When you open a PayPal account, you can use your account immediately however there are limits in place until you have verified your details. Our verification process confirms your bank account details, which in turns helps us to prevent fraud such as identity theft. Once you become Verified and we lift the sending limits on your PayPal account you can make unlimited purchases on eBay and other online shops.
To become Verified, log in to your PayPal account and click the 'Get Verified' link on your Account Overview page and follow the on-screen instructions.
@studymonkey – I’ve moved your post here as based on the information you provided in your post I think you have the same query as Keith0Kane. Have you already added your bank account (8 digit number) to your PayPal account? If you only had your card registered in the past, you would need to add the bank and complete the confirmation process to become verified.
I hope this helps and please repost to update us!
Thanks,
Maria

Hey there 1960AMD,
Welcome to the community forum.
The sending limit is not in relation to your card but the PayPal account itself.
Each PayPal account when opened is unverified and has a sending, receiving and withdrawing limit.
The annual sending and withdrawing limits are lifted when you add on and confirm a bank account, this also verifies your PayPal account. So if you want to continue spending more through PayPal you need to verify the PayPal account by adding and confirming a bank account.
