Paypal wants more information from me

I've hit the dreaded €1800 cap. At €2500 I reach my selling limit. Paypal gave me 30 days to send them a photo ID and proof of residence. I sell exclusively on eBay, and will probably hit that limit this year. However, I'm looking at the limits imposed if I don't give them photo ID and proof of residence in 20 days.

What can I do while my account is limited?

  • send money
  • withdraw money from your account
  • receive or request money
  • update your account information
  • add money to your account
  • link or remove a card
  • link or remove a bank account
  • send refunds
  • use PayPal logos in your auction listings or on your website

What can't I do while my account is limited?

  • close your account

This doesn't look too bad in the slightest. What incentive is there to give Paypal my photo ID and proof of residence? I usually empty my Paypal into my bank account the monemt money comes in. There's no direct debit, so Paypal can't take it back out again. Will giving this information remove my limits for selIing?

Hi there,

It would seem you are approaching a receiving limit of €2500. Once this limit is breached you will need to verify your identity. This is a threshold set, where PayPal need to validate the ownership of the account and verify their identity and residency to adhere to banking regulations. Once you reach the limit, the restrictions on your account could be expanded. I would advise you to complete the steps before reaching the limit.

Thanks

Martin
