I have had an email to say that my account has limited access and is requiring me to give lots of personal details.
Is this a hoax?

When you sign onto your paypal, does it tell you there that your account has limited access? If it doesnt, then it is a hoax.

Hi guys,
Firstly, thanks for your input. You all have provided some good advice on the topic .
We would never advise that you provide information to us through an email or a link that you have clicked on from an email. There are a few different ways to try and determine if an email was sent by PayPal or not. Check the greeting, if it says Dear First name, Last name, then the email most likley was sent from PayPal. Where as if the email was to say Dear PayPal Customer then the email was not sent by us. It would be the same if it was addressed to your email address.
The best thing to do if you are ever unsure is to log in to your PayPal account and see if there is any limitation or issues on your PayPal account. If not, then you would have received a spoof email. You should also forward the email to us by sending the email to spoof@paypal.com and then delete the email from your email inbox.
I hope this helps,
David.
