Free Money?

Ok, I've been having terrible trouble with my paypal account.

 

2 direct debits were taken out of my bank when only 1 should have been, this was a month ago, the extra money just went into my account balance, however as it was £300 I couldn't afford to have it just sit there, so I contacted paypal to have it reversed, they actually refused, I contacted my bank they refunded the money immediately.

 

For 3 weeks after this I exchanged many messages and telephone calls with paypal, basically as the money was no longer mine, it shouldn't have been reflected in my account, and I couldn't use the account whilst this was still showing as an available balance.  For 3 weeks they refused to do anything about this, then I needed to make a purchase so went down the "e-cheque" route, this is less than convenient, but I waited the required time, the money cleared etc.. However, paypal decided to cancel the payment and put a restriction on my account.  I contacted them, at first they denied cancelling the payment, then they concluded that due to the double payment on my account they decided to place a block on my account, so the payment wasn't made and the money was put into my available balance in my paypal account.  So now I have 2 sums of money in my account that aren't my money, I can't remake the payment as ebay is showing the payment as having been made!  

 

The day after this block was put on my account (3 weeks after I first contacted them about the double direct debit....) they took the original £300 out of my account, which is obviously what I wanted.

 

However, 3 days ago the money reappeared!  I contact them, and the response I receive is "thank you for contacting ebay, I see from the notes in your account that all your problems have been resolved", well no.....

 

Why do I receive such poor queries to my email's and should I just close my account and keep the money that they are making difficult for me not to keep?  Honestly, this double direct debit was refunded 3 weeks and 6 days ago, why do they want me to have this in my account!???

 

I am honestly tearing my hair out over this, I phone them and they don't know anything, then it's always half an hour into the call before they read back far enough and say "ohhh", then don't do anything about it!

Hi Colin,

 

Deepest symathies with your plight mate.

 

The reason you are experiencing difficulties as far as i can see is that you are dealing with complete numpties, probably based in another country and think they can get away with it.

 

Might be woth a look to see if you can use another provider and vote with your feet - I am intending to do this as soon as I find a way to get my cash out.
