Cannot Verify Account

My problem is simple, I traveled out of my country to another country for a couple of weeks & now whenever I try purchasing anything through PayPal it asks me to "verify through SMS" on my phone, and clearly I cannot receive any SMS since the number registered on my PayPal account only works back in the country I came from, now I am stuck at this verification crap & cannot purchase anything, I really don't understand this idiotic way of verification while there are other methods of verification also equally reliable but a lot less nonsense, such as through your email.

Any help with this will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Im getting the same error,i have tried using both the SMS and automated call option neither work and im faced with the error we cannot proceed and to call or email.

I have called and spent around 20 minutes on the phone where changes where made to my account but nothing has helped,i've cleared my cache used different browsers and different devices and still cannot send any payments,i have had no problems before in the 7 years of using my account so what can be done to fix this issue.
