I have an open dispute that has not yet been resolved and it is supposed to close by tomorrow..    I am communicating with seller but we have not resolved it yet......How do I extend it???

I think since you are losing on time, and the dispute will close if you dont escalate it.

I suggest you convey this to your party and esc it to a claim.

Paypal is only concerned with seller fees. they will take the side of the seller and **bleep** you over.
