Regarding the Rolling Reserve....

I am feeling a bit perplexed and disappointed...I have had a Rolling Reserve placed on my account and cannot seem to find a way to have this removed. Do I need to close my PayPal account? The only reason I can figure this was placed on my account was because I have been refunding overcharges on shipping...I am refunding money to my customers, so they do not feel they are getting ripped off when the actual shipping differs from Ebays "calculated" shipping....and for this, I feel I am being penialized by having 10% of my HARD EARNED money held for 2 months!!! These are not refunds because my customers are not happy...this is to make my customers EXTRA happy by getting back a few dollars.

Is there anyone else out there going through something like this? If so, what can we do about it? I have tried to email PayPal but because they don't have a box I can check for my actual issue I have trouble sending an email. I tried asking Sarah, our automated help lady...and well, there's only so much a computer animated lady can do for me!! She's very polite and very quick to respond, but I feel I need a real response to a real problem. It's holiday season and I have almost 200. being held until Jan. 3rd!!

Any advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated~Thanks to anyone who actually read this and let me vent!! Stacey

Hi Stacey,

I have a very good standing in ebay 100% and I don't have a chargeback or complaints from customer,

and they charged me 20% rolling reserve for 60 days. Im some what confused too.  I think we have

to look for other options.

We are an eBay trading assitant with almost $2000 in Rollong reserve for no apparent reason. We desperatly need this money considering we take about $30% of total sales. This means $10% of our earnings are always on hold. It is killing our business. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

I agree, it is killing the little people.  They are also taking 30% from my sales, AND my  everyday Paypal transactions now.  Ya, we'll get it back.....in Feburary.  If this information was stated up front, I wouldn't have a problem with it, but it is quite a surprise when you find out.  I was looking at another company with the virtual terminal, but there was a 90.00 start up fee, I figured that I have had a Paypal account, it really wouldn't be that big of a deal.  I surpassed my 90.00 on day one!!
I have tried to talk with Sarah-the-good-for-nothing-robot, then got into the Paypal calling center......can't find a human there.  I just wan't to know, is this a rolling 30% forever, or is there a set amount that you work your way up to and then just keep the balance??  I can tell you, a rolling 30% isn't going to cut it here.
You figure that you went and acutally started a business, you would get the benifit of the doubt (like EVERY other merchant service)  The people that do this for fun have more freedom with their own money than we do.
I'll give this about a week, and I'll start going somewhere else

I've been using Paypal since 2001, had 970+ 100% feedback and they gave me 30% for 90 days? This is too much!

THIS IS AN UNFAIR PRACTICE THAT PAYPAL CAN NOT EXPLAIN. AND I WILL BE DOING RESEARCH ON. I WILL NO LONGER USE PAYPAL AS AN OPTION. EVERY SELLER/BUYER SHOULD DO THE SAME. THER REASON FOR ROLLING RESERVE HOLD IS INCASE OF RETURNS/ISSUES WITH ITEM IS CRAP. WE ALL SELLERS/BUYERS MAINLY USE BANK ACCOUNT WHICH SECURE US FROM ANY PROBLEMS. EVERY BUYER/SELLER SHOULD BE ALSO COMPLAINING TO EBAY AND BBB. I WILL ALSO SEND THESE POSTING TO LOCAL NEWS.

I agree...we should send our concerns to Ebay...I am sure they are aware of this, but this has deterred me from listing more items! PayPal actually had the nerve to inform me that I have a negative balance of 5.95 and I need to "cover" that...meanwhile, they have over 200. of MY money in their rolling reserve!! I may be a blonde, but I am NOT dumb!!!

I just finished sending them ANOTHER email, to which I will probably get a generic response. My next letter is to Ebay. Let's bombard them and maybe we will see results.

I am looking into other funding options...too bad Ebay does not offer us very many.

Keep your responses coming...if we all fight together we may be able to at least get OUR money out of THEIR pockets!!

Message: PAYPAL HAS INFORCED A ROLLING RESERVE ON ACCOUNTS. THIS IS VER
UNFAIR TO ALL SELLERS. EBAY INFORCES PAYPAL AS A SAFE WAY TO SELL. NOW
THEY ARE KEEPING OUR MONEY FOR UP TO 90 DAYS. THIS HAS TO BE ILLEAGAL. I
WILL RESEARCHING THIS. I WOULD SUGGEST YOU HAVE PAYPAL CHANGE IT'S NEW
ROLLING RESERVE WHICH CAN HOLD UP ALOT OF MONEY FOR 90 DAYS. HOOLD FUND
TILL ITEM ARRIVES TO SELLER IS FAIR. ITT'S THE ROLLING RESERVE THAT IS
NOT . JUST FOR THEIR PROFIT. I WILL NOT BE USING PAYPAL ANYMORE AND I
WILL ALSO ASK EVRY SELLER TO DO THE SAME. I WOULD LIKE AND EXPLNATION IN
DETAIL. NOT SOME ONE LINE RESPONSE TO THIS ISSUE.
