Pending???

I sold an item on ebay 10 days ago (first time) and the money is still pending in my paypal account. Im wondering if anyone knows how long this will be pending for.

when you are a new seller, Paypal holds the funds to make sure both seller and buyer are satisfied with the transaction.  Usually as soon as the buyer leaves positive feedback you get your money

It has been three weeks since I sold my first item on eBay. The buyer is thrilled. He gave me excellent feedback after I sent his item 2nd day air UPS. I was thrilled and lining up more items to sell. I decided to wait until the first deal was finished before posting again. That was three weeks ago. My elation has turned to heartburn. Being able to look at my PayPal account and see over $2500.00 that should be mine sitting there in the pending column strikes me as being a sick joke. PayPal customer service has been no help at all. This forum is the only place I've seen the issue addressed. I don't want to turn this into a legal issue. I just want PayPal to do the right thing and release my funds. Is there any hope?

PayPal will generally release the funds the earlier of... after 21 days, or... after the buyer leaves positive feedback or 3 days after PayPal can confirm delivery of the item.

The policy is called the eBay Item Hold policy... it was announced in January, 2008 and implemented in April, 2008. Go here...

If the buyer has left positive feedback or if you have provided PayPal with online viewable proof of delivery, call PayPal... they should release the payment.

I have the same issue, except the buyer has not left any feedback. I've sent numerous messages saying thank you blah blah blah hope your enjoying my iphone while i sit and wait for my money to be released.the payment was held oct 16 saying it would be released today nov. 6 and yet still pending. this is bull crap they have proof of it being delivered. conformation number and everything. well if anyone can help i'll appreciate it

I have met ALL the criteria listed in the "pending" information column. I received EXCELLENT feedback on eBay from the buyer one day after the item was received by him. It isn't likely that would have happened had the item not been shipped and received in good condition. (I sent the item 2nd day air UPS the moment PayPal told me to ship it.) It has been 22 days now that they have had over $2500.00 on "pending" status. I still cannot figure any way to speak to a real person about this issue. I do not need to be sent somewhere on PayPal's "customer service" that does not tell me specifically how to access my money. That just furthers my frustration. How do I get PayPal to release my money? How do I talk to a real person? Telling me to just be patient and everything will be all right is much the same as telling a rape victim to just lay back and enjoy it and it will all be over very soon. Where are your ethics, PayPal?

johnhenry61, Call PayPal... login to your PayPal account and click on the "Contact Us" link on the right side of the page... there you will find the PayPal phone number for your account. If you can't login or find the link, use the following PayPal Customer Service phone numbers...

hi, im a new buyer on ebay ive been on for just a few months and heres the weird thing i transfered money from my acct to paypal to pay for a transaction but when the transaction ended it turns out the money was not taken from the money i transfered to paypal it was taken out from my bank (i didnt have the money in the bank because i pu it in paypal) so the echeck didnt clear but paypal says its still pending (so heres the big question will paypal switch gears and take the money out of my paypal acct to pay the seller for me? or do i need to put the money back into my bank for it to clear?) sort of a different topic srry

PayPal will not change the funding source to PayPal balance... PayPal will try again to remove the funds from your bank account which is what you instructed them to do when you sent the echeck funded payment.

Hello Meow,

For those of us who are still new at dealing with PayPal, I think the biggest problem is getting to talk to a real person in customer service. Once I found out how to get past the frustrating preprogrammed customer service loops that did not address my particular problem, both on phone and the computer, my problem was solved within a very short time. When you click on "contact us" you will be given the option "call us". Then you are given a list of options to choose from via the phone buttons. Wait 'til the end and you will be given the option to talk to a real person. For me, that person was very helpful. Good Luck!   johnhenry61
