Payment has been on hold after i shipped package?

About a week and a half ago, i shipped a gameboy that i sold on ebay. After about 5 or 6 days, i contacted the person that i sent the gameboy too via ebay mail and they said to me that they got it and would leave feedback. When i shipped the package, i didnt use a printable shiping label, i just went to the post office and wrote down the adress of my buyer. Now even after contacting my buyer, my funds are still being held and i dont know why or what i can do in order to get my money for the gameboy. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

On the Ebay sell your item form it should be in BIG, BOLD, SPECIFIC letters that paypal will hold your funds for 21 days if you've had an acct. for less than whatever time or less than however many positive feedback.

Instead...it states paypal may hold your funds to ensure a smooth transaction with a link to the 21 days clause and it still does NOT state what determines if you will be the one they're holding funds from (that is listed NOWHERE).

When people are in the midst of listing an item, they are not going to stop and click a link to get off that page to read your disclaimer that still isn't specific.  NO ONE even thinks a hold would be 21 days!  My impression was a hold until it was proven the item was delivered (I add delivery conf. to ALL items), not until the seller leaves feedback whenever they get around to it or wait 3 weeks whichever comes first.

I totally agree!! This is a racket!  I sold something on Dec 11th on Ebay.... and they received the package on Dec 16th.  I sent a very nice diplomatic email stating...'please let me know when you get the package and leave feed back asap'  They buyer says 'well it's a gift for X-mas so I will leave feed back ON eBay when the user opens it and plays it..I hope this isn't inconvenient'  LOL....well just take your time there.  Obviously the buyer has NO care what-so-ever if my money is held or for how long....even though they got my da*n package!  And no money for me still....no feedback as well and here we are on the 26th of December.  Who's to say she'll leave any feed back anyways.  This is BS.

IF YOU SELL SOMETHING AND THE BUYER DEFACES YOUR STUFF AND THEN ASKS FOR THEIR MONEY BACK AND YOU DISAGREE PAYPAL WILL HAVE YOUR MONEY FOR LONGER THAN 21 DAYS. tHE WHOLE THING IS MESSED UP NEED BETTER WAY TO HANDLE THIS SITUATION.

I just checked my PayPal and noticed that I have a payment being held, and not to ship the package.  I just took it in today, tried calling the post office to see if they could wait to send it out, and it was too late.  NO WHERE in eBay did it say anything about the payment being held.  It shows up as buyer has completed checkout, meaning payment was received.  I did have a case opened against this buyer for non payment because it was taking him way too long to pay (like 18 days) and now his payment isnt verified? Ya, I can only hope this doesnt turn out really bad.  Suggestion to all sellers: check your paypal before you ship something, dont trust eBay when they say checkout has been complete.

what really kills me about the fees are the paypal fees of .30 & 2.9% on the more expensive items the .30 doesn't matter but on the little items (under 10.00) the percentage is astronomical like on a 5.00 item sold auction style. the ebay fees are .79 and the paypal fee .50  that is 1.29 in fees! not counting the fee  from paypal on the shipping cost which is a few cents more! that is more than 25% of the selling price. Take into consideration  what it cost you to buy and your time you are working for ebay & paypal, andf that is assuming it sells the first time you list it.

On smaller items paypal shouldn't carge the full.30 cents. I know this seems petty but I have been selling a lot of 10.00 items lately. People aren't buying too many bigger ticket items and the .30 really adds up.

if we all stop accepting paypal maybe they will get it.  i have been member since 2003 and with alot of transactions but mainly buying, i soldl 5 items and they say 21 days till i get my money thats b.s. they also will only let me send instant payment once in a while making me send e-check that takes 4-5 days for seller to receive. THAT GIVES THEM MORE TIME TO USE OTHER PEOPLES MONEY!           PAYPAL SUCKS AND WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED   is what my future listings will say

This has to be the worst policy ever!  This is the first time I have ever sold anything on eBay, but I had been told by several people that you get your payment before you ship the item.  But no, my money is on hold, and I had to go and pay my own money to have the product packed and shipped ($40!).  Now I don't have enough money to pay my rent which is due tomorrow, and most likely will not have the money from my sale in time to buy Christmas presents like I was planning.  I saw that stupid message when you post your item for sale that says something stupid like it may be delayed, but that small amount of text does not quite portray the abyss of stupidity you are about to enter when you decide to use PayPal.  It is especially dumb because I sold a broken laptop, for parts/repair, that was sold as is, with no returns accepted, so I don't see why I cannot have my money now.  This entire ordeal has put me in a very bad financial situation (since I had to use the money I had saved for rent to pay S&H, and most likely won't get my money back anytime soon).  Unless something is done about this, I will be using craigslist from now on, there I won't have to worry about shipping, and can have people pay in cash.

just stop using paypal/ebay they are stealing our money  my account was seized for issueing refunds becasue my dropshipper was having payment gateway problems the correct thing to do is to give those affected their money back is it not try telling that to paypal they they told me that it wasnt proper to use a dropshipper to sell items well guess they havent looked at ebay lately all the bigger sellers are using dropshippers are they not whoever the rep was i talked to didnt even know that one customers refund was frozen between paypal and secure2u which is also a paypal entity but yet they attempted to issues refunds from my personal account and overdrew it we all know that paypal isnt going to reimburse me those fees they wont be able to touch that account any more since i had the numbers changed so **bleep** you paypal on that one this 21 day hold isnt just on high risk items its on everything i sold a pair of baby shoes that my kid didnt fit that money was on for 21 even though positive feedback was received and tracking number showed the customer got it but that money is frozen in the account that was seized and is going to be held for180 days BS there is 700 in that account and is going to be used as a rep told me incase there are any disputes well guess what there are now since i cant get to any of the money to ship the items that people have won and paid for im not shipping out of my own pocket

if it is the right thing to do to prevent a few rotten apples then why dont sears or gm do anything like that here take this home try it out for 21 days and if you dont like it bring it back for a full refund

now here is what we should all do contact the better business bureau the federal trade comission contact your senators and congress men and inform them of how paypal is **bleep**ing over the consumer by holding purchasing funds i did and the only reason i did is because i cant afford a lawyer but if any of you can and are thinking of sueing them let me know because im in ill give what i have to help out with lawyer fees

Unbeleivable - I should ship my item out to the buyer and hope that they will leave positive feedback, or I don't get paid. What protection do I have. Give me a break paypal. I see you took out your fee immediately. How much money will you make over those 21 days holding that money? Wow.

The buyer paid on the 11th. The item was mailed out on the 12th. Postive feedback was left on the 15th.

Pay Pal reversed payment on the 17th.

My payments  still on hold.

I called Pay Pal & got no where.

So, wheres the Sellers protection?

In my 9 years using Pay Pal, they lost all my trust.

I thought the idea for using Pay Pal was so this  didnt happen.

Pay Pal was great till they merged with ebay.

Now...just more crooks.
