"We're sorry. There's been an intermittent communication problem. Please try again later." Is what I have been getting all day.
I managed to log in without it by providing other info, I then deactivated it (hoping to be able to re-activate it again to see if that solved the problem) BUT again all I get is: "We're sorry. There's been an intermittent communication problem. Please try again later."
So now the key is deactivated and I can't reactivate it. Anyone else use the security key/token having this issue?

Same problem here. It's worked well for I-don't-know-how-many-months before, but now it's quit.
Is it a coincidence that it died just when Daylight Savings Time ended? I get a feeling that our clocks aren't in sync any more.

It's a miracle! My Security Key has just spontaneously started to work again. Perhaps it was just a coincidence that its failure coincided with the end of Daylight Savings Time. Gotta wonder, though, since the battery-powered clock in the Security Key has to stay in reasonable sync with PayPal's servers... and obviously my Key knows nothing of DST.

I'm having the exact same problem ever since I upgraded from IE7 to IE8. It works on my laptop with IE7 but not on my desktop since upgrading to IE8. By chance to you recently upgrade to IE8?

I've been using IE8 for a long time and the security key worked fine -- until today. I've been trying off and on all day long and I still can't activate it. The first time it happend I called support and they said it would be fixed within two hours. Yeah, sure....
I hope someone posts when it finally starts working again... I don't think I could get PayPal to call me when they're ready.

This is hillarious... I was about to post about how mine was also fixed (I deactivated and reactivated it after I could not for a while the other day) but now when I tried to log into the forums, the code failed twice and I needed to identify with a CC (again)
