I want to know you're experiences with this hold policy. I have sold multiple items on eBay and I always get a tracking number when I ship an item. I have confirmation that the items have been delivered but I still have holds on the money. I have also added the tracking numbers to paypal and to eBay. I have not however received any feedback yet. It has only been a few days since the items have been delivered but I want to know if I'm going to have to wait the full 20 day hold or if anyone has experience with this and can tell me how long it takes. Thanks

finding this out now that my auctions are over....been with paypal since the begining....not looking like any longer. DO Not hold my payment. Count on that money. If i knew you would hold my payment i would have sold locally! Cash in hand and done. So pay shipping out of my empty pocket and HOPE my payment shows up sometime. I can see attorney generals getting calls left and right. Going to check or money order after this BAD policy! Ship before i receive payment....are you nuts! Better get my money all i can say....thanks for a bad holiday. Paul

I AGREE, THIS IS ABSURD. I'M DONE WITH PAYPAL TOO. I DON'T THINK IT'S THERE MONEY TO HOLD ANYWAY AND CERTAINLY NOT THERE DECISION TO REFUND MONEY FOR AN ITEM,

Paul, to add to your worry, Ebay will cancel any auctions you list that say you will not accept Paypal, and will only accept money order or cashier's check. The ONLY other payment Ebay allows you to list is your own credit card terminal, or cash at pick-up.
So, your homework: look into why THAT is illegal and get back to us, as I'll gladly sign up for the civil suit!

This is not good, I work hard for the services I provide I did not know that this hold policy would delay after my customers made payment. The whole reason for me activating this account was to expedite the payment process to keep from waiting for a check in the mail which usually takes 30-45 days, might as well wait for a check the is a real bad business practice, we expect to receive that is due.

They are making money from our money. I purchased merchandise using my paypal account, they charged my card immediately however shipping had not been confirmed. They should have "AUTHORIZED the charge" then charged when the merchant shipped but they didn't. Now the merchant has advised item won't be available to ship for 2 months. Pay Pal has my money for two months, I have to pay my bill in 30 days, this practice is not acceptable.

Yes it happened to me. I had my funds on hold and still have listing on e-bay. I sold a $200.00 item and the buyer paid with paypal. I called him the next day telling him my situation. He agreed to take a refund from paypal and give me his credit when he got home from work. Well I refunded his money but he had decided to cancel and would not give me his credit card. Well this cost me $20.00 worth of e-bay fees which the jerk would not agree to a mutual cancellation of the transaction. So the jerk bought one from Summitt Racing and paid more money for it. His response....... I was afraid of getting ripped off because you are having issues with paypal WOW GOT IT AGAIN MAN!! GUESS HOW HE PAID,YES A CREDIT CARD. Talking about adding insult to injury.

Dear Ebay/PayPal,
Tonight, you shattered my 9 (Yes, NINE) year faith in your ethics and business practices. I have 51 (FIFTY-ONE) POSITIVE feedbacks over a 9 year history, yet upon selling my accordion tonight for $700 plus shipping, I sent a request for the buyer to pay me with Pay Pal, then upon going to PayPal, I find my funds HELD for 21 days!
ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND!?!?
Now, I am FORCED to send a very expensive instrument at my expense (making this whole transaction a net loss until I get paid) without guarantee of payment. When I called PayPal, the agent on the other end of the line could not give me a example of how this policy protects ME, the seller. The buyer can string me on virtually forever. Sure, they get it, then they decide to nit pick something, or just be malicious and claim they are not satisfied, so my money will be held and held and held.
Well, 'Ha Ha". You got me. Now I'm forced to spend more money to send away my accordion, and cross my fingers and hope to get paid.
I have two words for you - NEVER AGAIN!!!
You have DESTROYED our relationship and I will make it my mission to tell everybody I come into contact with, to NEVER use your services ever again. You are crooks!
The ONLY reason you are using this BS method now is that you are collecting HUGE INTEREST on the float of OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY.
The rest of your so called "protection" speech, is just BS and smoke which you blow up people's skirts ...
So, yep. You got me this time. After this. BYE BYE. Nice job idiots!
