Pending funds

My funds are being held and i'm not a new seller. I've been selling on ebay for years, with 100% feedback and above average customer satisfaction. I've been using paypal for all payment needs for the last 10 years. Never once has my funds been held until the beginning of October 2015. After contacting paypal and speaking to a couple of supervisors, i got conflicting information. The first one said this was a "one time" occurrence. The second time my funds were held, i called back, really irate and was told very apathetically, that this was the process 'go forward'. Needless to say, i was furious that i was being dictated to as to when i can have access to MY  funds. The following day, i called back to ensure that i understood what the process truly was based on the fact that i had received conflicting information to date. This time i was told that it was not indefinite and that 2 months following the 1st occurrence of a hold on funds, this hold should cease to happen. I would appreciate if someone from paypal or the community can clarify exactly what the process is now that paypal has split from ebay. Their transition has been incredibly rocky, with a lack of communication to its users, emails claiming my account was being held, and unclear, inconsistent information. At this point, i'm looking for an alternate method to receive payment and if anyone can suggest a good alternative, i would be most grateful!

All i can give you is this to see if any of it applies >>>

Reasons why you may have returned to the hold as per link above possibly are >>>

1. New seller.

2. Not sold for a while and returned to selling.

3. Dipped star ratings on ebay.

4. Recent buyer disputes.

5. Selling on a different email address or ebay i.d.

6. Starting to sell using paypal only without using ebay.

Thanks for the reply. There were 2 disputes both of which were resolved in my favour. One buyer claimed non-receipt even though it clearly showed on the tracking that it was successfully delivered and had been signed for! The second one had buyer's remorse and claimed the item was not new, even though it was. It had been in my possession for years and i had never worn it. Because it had been stored in a cedar closet, she assumed the scent was due to wear! In fact, she emailed me while the dispute was on and said if the dispute was settled in her favour, she'd be willing to keep it for a lesser price! Anyway, it seems that their policies are not based on rational thinking and are meant to be unfavourable to sellers. All disputes do not equate to the seller being responsible and they should take facts into consideration and recognize that there are unscrupulous buyers looking to exploit the system and honest sellers.

Even if the disputes were resolved in your favour you don't know if the buyers left poor star ratings which may have made them drop a little and pushed you into the hold again??

That wasn't the case as ebay disallowed the buyer from leaving feedback once i demonstrated suitably that i was not at fault. So, i'm mystified. Also, the 3rd person i spoke to at paypal said that this would only be for 2 months? I'm questioning the credibility of that statement and this may be just to placate me for the time being! I really don't know who to reach out to in order to get a firm, accurate answer! Meanwhile, i continue my search for an alternative to paypal, perhaps moneris, to receive payments directly!

Ebay will remove comments but not star ratings. So your buyers comments would have gone but their rating would have remained.

Normally 2 months is an approx time for the holds so hopefully it will end soon.

To be honest speaking with my buyers hat on i would never send funds to a stranger without paypal buyer protection. I have bought way to much over the years and way over what i would have risked without that buyer protection.

So as a seller as well i would rather have paypal and more buyers and put up with the odd pain in the butt buyer than not use it at all.

But try other methods and compare, if it works for you then go for it.
