Good morning everyone, I wonder if someone can shine some light as to what happens in the paypal ether of logic.
I have a paypal account - a good 5 years old, always in good standing. I use it mainly for ebay and general transfers of buying.
Now, I invoiced myself as I had a virtual gift card I wanted to put in to my account, I get them from time to time and it works just fine, invoice myself -> pay by giftcard -> withdraw balance.
For some reason the system flagged up a payment of £25. Pretty insignificant considering what goes through my account, so I wrote notes (I'm sure you can imagine the frustration after 21 days), immediately replied to any information required and explained what it is for.
28 days later, still waiting for it to be cleared. When I emailed support, they told me to call them. I have no interest in doing that as all transactions in my account are genuine and valid.
I am wondering is this normal practice to ignore customers and just copy/paste email responses?

They haven't ignored you, they asked you to call them.
If you do then it should be resolved, if you don't then it may not be.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
