Hi,
After 11 years on eBay I've just been involved in my first dispute where someone says the book I sold to them on eBay has someone's name written in it, which they say wasn't described in the auction. I've never been involved in a dispute before and yesterday was sent an e-mail asking me to Respond since it had been escalated to a claim. I had already asked the buyer to supply photo's, but he just said "sorry, can't" and then escalated it to a claim. So my response was "can you please supply photo's of the problem", and when I went back into PayPal this morning to add some further information, which is critical to the case, it seems I only got that one chance to respond and that I can't now add any further info (which is crucial if it's being 'reviewed by a claims expert at PayPal', since I had to file a non-paying-bidder report via eBay on the buyer, and they didn't respond to any of the e-mails I sent them, and I haven't mentioned this in the case). I don't want to lose all the money and the item if I'm not able to express this because I can't add further info, nor do I want the case to rule in his favour if no-one has compared the photo's of what he says is wrong against the photo's in the auction listing.
So, how do I add further info to a dispute, and what happens if they rule in his favour without seeing any evidence of the dispute? Do I have to file a dispute if this one is closed? Can I file a dispute as a seller?
I appreciate any help you can give!
Thanks for your time,
Rich

hi, I have this same problem. did you ever get an answer somewhere? I thought I would have another chance to to enter items as the first go round I didnot enter any proof as I was just trying to contact the seller. adn now seller escalated case and paypal screen says waiting on my response which only shows me beign able to close the case or change reason.

I have exactly the same problem.
I lodged a case against a seller - the seller responded with a load of lies and when I viewed the case, HE had escalated it to a claim and closed my ability to reply to his lies. Now, I feel that if those lies are believed, the case is likely to go against me and I am unable to respond.
So unfair and illogical that I now have to wait and go through an 'appeal'.
