I recently purchased an online item which i did not recieve. I filed a complaint but yet is was closed as it isn't a tangiable item. The matter is i never recieved my item and after numerous emails and chat attempts to contact the seller i still hadn't heard anything from them and the case was closed in their favour. I have a screenshot from the website i purchased from where it clearly states Customer refund completed and as you may expect i haven't recieved a refund. I don't know what else to do unless i result to ringing the bank to take this further.

Hi there TomSeaman,

It sounds to me that your seller had initiated a refund on this transaction through their PayPal account but the refund could have failed from their bank account or something.

Can I ask if you have checked your transaction history in order to see if you can see that there is a refund showing with a status of Removed on your account? If there is, this means that the refund has failed from your sellers bank account. If this is the case, you can try contacting customer services in order to determine if there is anything that we can do to assist you in regards to this case.

I don't know if there is anything that we would be able to do to assist you as the item you purchased is not covered under our Buyer Protection Policy but when you contact us, we can investigate it further on your behalf.

I hope this helps,

David.

Hi David.

Thanks for your reply. I have checked my transaction history and there are no signs of any refunds on there. This morning i recieved an email from which seemed to be paypal with an unknown sender. Now as i wait for the refund to go back in (If it is legitimate) i just wanted to check back with you in reply to your question. Thanks for your help.

To cut it short -

As stated in our User Agreement, the claims process only applies to the
shipment of tangible goods. However, since you’re a frequent PayPal
customer, we’re extending a one-time courtesy based on your history and
good account standing. As a result, PayPal has refunded your account for
the disputed amount for these intangible goods.

Sincerely,

Shannon

Hi again TomSeaman,

To be honest, the email you received looks as though it could be a genuine PayPal email. Have you checked your PayPal account and can you see that you have received a refund on the transaction on your account?

In some cases, we may be able to process a one time reimbursment to a customer in the event of us not being able to investigate the case further or issue a refund on the payment but this would not be done in every case.

Could you please check your account and let me know if the refund has been received?

David.
