I've just received a mail from PayPal saying:
We’ve noticed you’ve received a chargeback. This happens when a buyer asks their credit card issuer to reverse a transaction that has already been approved. The credit card company then refunds the buyer and the money is automatically debited from your PayPal account.
There is no explanation as to why the cc company authorised a chargeback and PayPal haven't given me any advice on the steps I should take to rectify the solution. They say it's between the CC company and me, the seller, to question the validity of the chargeback. How do I go about this? Surely PayPal acts as an intermediary, I don't even know who the credit company is!
