buyer claimed item was not sent, item was sent and now PayPal have given them a refund

i sold an item of clothing to someone on depop, i was late shipping it out so i offered to refund the postage. (at this point the buyer had already made a claim saying item not received) i refund the postage and she claims that she hasnt received it, and now paypal have refunded her in full so now she has the item and a full refund and i have lost the money! unbelivable what should i do

Check your message centre.
I expect you had quite a bit of communication from PayPal before they had decided to return buyer the money. If you sent via signed postage (always do that) provide them with tracking number and then if it's trully did not arrive, you can claim this vs the Courier (or try) to recover the costs.
CALL PayPal and see what they can do.
Unfortunately it's a long and confusing process - even longer once PayPal made a decision to refund.
