Why is PayPal taking money out of my bank

I have been using paypal to receive payments via the depop app.

My bank statement says that PayPal/Depop have withdrawn around £3 from my account, but I don't know why. Surely any fees are withdrawn from my PayPal balance, not my bank account? Depop charges 10% of every sold item, which is shown on my PayPal. I can't seem to see any charges from PayPal, but have sold around 10 items through the app and bought one item.

Does anybody know why money is being taken out of my bank account?

Hi a1icemorgan,

Welcome to the PayPal community forum. New members are always welcome.

It sounds like you may be paying for items using your bank account when your balance is at 0.00. If there are funds in your balance, these funds will always be used first. If your PayPal balance is at 0.00 then the funds would be requested from your bank account. I would recommend to log in  to your PayPal account and review your transactions to see if there is any payments going out where the funds are being requested from your bank account.

If you are unable to locate them, please feel free to contact us directly so we can review it for you. You can contact us on via email, phone or through Twitter @AskPayPal or via Private Message on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/PayPal

I hope this helps and please let us know how you get on.
