I purchased a car from a private seller on eBay and paid with my credit card through PayPal. I’ve had the car only 6 weeks and the engine has developed major issues and I’m potentially looking at a small fortune to repair it. What are my rights in terms of compensation or refunds either from the seller, eBay or PayPal as I can’t afford to get it done!

It may have been better to have read up on Ebay and Paypal buyer protection before you purchased the car to be honest.
You have 0 buyer protection for motor vehicles, both Ebay and Paypal do tell you that.
However you could contact your card issuer and see if you can do a chargeback via them OR you may be able to file a claim in the small claims court.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
