When a card payment is initially made, we get instant authorisation from the card issuer, this blocks the amount from your card account. This does not mean we instantly receive the payment, but usually on the same day. If the payment is refunded, we still have to wait until the money has cleared before we send it back to the card issuer. This return process is not instant and can take 2 - 3 working days, in some cases this can be longer depending on the card issuer.
