Phone notification saying payment successful, but website saying it wasn't

Hi,

I just tried to pay £50 to a company via my laptop, pp .com said it was unsuccessful but I got a notification on my Pixel2 to say the payment had been made... I've had no emails and it's not showing up on my activity. 

Can anyone please offer advice?
