How do I close a dispute or a claim?

If you close a dispute or a claim it’s important to be aware that the claim can’t be reopened. Closing a dispute tells us that the dispute or claim has been resolved to your satisfaction.

To close a dispute or claim:

These steps apply to UK Personal accounts. If you have a Business account, please log in to see the steps that apply to you.

  1. Log in to your PayPal account.
  2. Near the bottom of the page, under 'More about your account', click Resolve a problem in our Resolution Centre.
  3. Select Open cases in the drop down menu and find the claim you wish to close.
  4. Click the Case ID link (e.g. PP-111-222-333) under the Case column.
    • If the case is in the Dispute phase click Close Dispute
    • If your case is in the Claim phase click Cancel this claim.
  5. Enter any comments in the comment box and continue to close your dispute or claim.

I have the same problem - all I can see is "mark this problem as resolved" - but all the help articles (and even the automated voice instructions when you call paypal on the phone) say to click on "cancel" or "close" the dispute.  I have looked everywhere but I can't see these buttons - did you figure it out ?

I gave you the info to close it, if you can't find it then i am not sure what else i can do.

Try asking customer services to sort it for you.
