Be Aware that Paypal DOES NOT help you in case of you being a victim of fraud!!!

Hello,

I have sold a Macbook Pro via Paypal via a personal sale as I am not a business.

The person who bought it has now requested a reversal of the payment and Paypal gave it to them despite the fact that I have proof that I posted and proof via email that he indeed bought the item form me and for that Laptop.

After discussing that with paypal they are now washing their hands saying that due to policy they cannot reimbuerse me for the monmey as I did via peroinsal sale and therefore I am not eligible for seller protection.

I find that absdolutely shocking. I have given them the police case number as I am following it through via the police and I have as stated above the postage proof and the emails stating that he bought the item from me.

What I fgind even more worrying is that Paypal is not even willing to check the facts and just gave the person, who I can only call a fraudster the money. That person has now the money and the laptop and Paypal is very happy to just let things go.

I am coming here to make sure nobody falls for Paypal again and as far as I am concernd they are as bad as the fraudster for continuing to allow this to happen and for above all, after I stated what I did, not even be prepared to check things.

It is appaling and it shows the type fo company they are.

They seem to be quote happy to aid a fruadster to get away with theft literally.

This is not fair and it is not right.

Paypal I still expect you to do the right thing.

I guess I will and everyone will know what your company stands for when you reply to this message.

Thank you,

Nuno da Silva

Paypal give you seller protection, but its up to you to make sure you fulfil all the criteria to qualify for it.

If you do not then there is nothing they can do to help you.

That does not mean you can't go to a small claims court and file against your buyer IF you have signed proof he received the item.

This is a complete wash your hands reply and to be honest I was expecting something better from Paypal.

Tis is not a normal situation where theres a mistake or a loss, this is theft and a fraud, Paypla either if the policy states something should be a company that actually protects the well ebig and the transdaction of sellers when they are victims of fraud, your reposnse just tells me that Paypla doesnt care at all about their customers and to be honest seems to be the case. The fact that you are not even willing to check the facts and come to me with this is a policy it is my fault is completely shocking. No wonder fraudsters use Paypla to con people like me, you do nothing to stop them, actually that is wrong, you even give them the money back...Wow well done fraudster, even Paypal is on your side, it beggards belief.

Don't you worry, the I already contacted the police so I am doing my bit, it is a petty paypal is not and instead of hleing people who are victoms of fraud, actually seem to be on the side of the fraudster. If this didnt happen to, I wouldnt believe that paypal was able to do something like this. Trully appalling. I will make sure everybody knows the type of company you are and i will complain about you as a company in every single venue I have so that people are aware of what company you are.

This is a user to user forum and not paypal customer services.

I am an ebay seller that helps out on here and not a paypal customer services agent.

i can only tell you how it works, I do not make or always agree with their policies.

I took the time to reply to your post as if you don't meet seller protection then paypal can do nothing for you. As a seller myself I have lost out because sometimes i take the risk of sending items non trackable and lost seller protection.

If you read my title i am a "volunteer".

Hi, I am not complaining about you, I am complaining about a company who doesn't take its fraud issues properly. My point is to  make sure people who are scammed not only by fraudsters but also by Paypal know that in Paypal they don't get any help, as if they wanted to, they could easily check the facts, the fact that they are not willing to do so proves to me they do not care.

Sorry but your whole reply was directed at me.

If you can't even work out that i don't work for paypal and this is a user to user forum then i can see why you have a problem reading and complying with seller protection for your own benefit.

Bye.
