My (French) lodger is moving out and heading back home so I need to pay back his deposit. When he arrived he paid £300 in cash, pounds. Obviously giving him £300 in pounds isn't really fair so he asked if I could send this over to him via Paypal. Not a problem - I can add money into my Paypal account but I'm not sure if I will be charged on a) the amount and b) the conversion.
When I send him the money so I send him in £ or €? If £ would he then incur a charge to convert to €? I will be sending him via his gmail Paypal account.
Hope that all makes sense. Looking for some help.
Thanks - James

Hello benjafields,
Welcome to our Community!
If yoiu send the amount in £'s to him he will have to convert the payment which will incur a cahrge. If you add funds in £'s and then convert on your side you will be charged . You will find our fee strcuture on the home page , here is a link for you https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/paypal-fees .
Thanks
Martin
